The Doctors and Managment would like to respectfully remind patients that the receptionists and administration staff do not have medical training so are unable to enter into detailed discussions about test results.
The Surgery has a very strict protocol which limits the amount of information that the Doctors authorise non-clinical staff to give to a patient about a result, and some examples of what they can tell patients are shown below:-
"Normal result, no further action required"
"Patient to book an appointment with the Doctor or Nurse"
"Patient to repeat test"
Unless specifically authorised to do so by a Doctor, non-clinical staff cannot give numerical values, for example cholesterol levels, to patients.
If you wish to discuss your results in detail, please book an appointment with a Doctor or Nurse.
