circled_dayAt Jubilee Surgery we offer a range of services with both Doctors, Nurses and our Health Care Assistant.

Appointment System

  • All routine and on the day appointment slots are for 10 minutes the GP may not be able to deal with multiple problems at the same time and may ask you to rebook another appointment.
  • During busy periods we run a triage service with trained practice nurses. At this time your name will be added to a list and one of the triage nurses will call you back to discuss your problem.  If you are able to give the receptionist an idea of your problem - i.e. ear ache, back pain, throat infection it would be helpful so that your call can be directed to the most appropriate clinician.
  • During the telephone consultation with you, a course of action will be agreed which may be one of the following:

    1. to come in that day and see a GP;
    2. to come in that day to see the triage nurse;
    3. to see a GP on a routine basis (the appointment will be made for you at the time of the telephone consultation);
    4. to collect a prescription from the surgery; or
    5. to act on the telephone advice given by the clinician.
  • Our triage nurses are able to deal with most common illnesses and can arrange prescriptions for you.
  • We will not be able to specify an exact time for the call back but it is likely to be within an hour, and due to the number of calls expected the clinicians will not be able to keep trying if you are unavailable.
  • If you want a routine appointment with a specific GP we will be able to arrange that for you.
  • The triage team may be able to give you an appointment with a doctor of your choice within 48 hours, if you need to be seen urgently you will be offered an appointment with one of the clinicians that day.
  • Nurse appointments will be booked for the treatment room or phlebotomy as normal.

 This system has been introduced to improve management of our demand and capacity for appointments and ensure that patients see the most appropriate health care professional.

If you have any queries regarding the new system please contact one of the reception team.

In line with the changes to the appointments we are offering more appointment slots to be booked online by patients. Over 50% of patients now use the online booking option.

If you wish to make appointments online, you will need to register for this service. Please ask at reception for a registration form. Please note that we cannot issue registration forms to anyone other than the patient for confidentiality reasons (except to parents/guardians of a child under the age of 14).

Text Reminders

We have the facility to send you a reminder about a clinic appointment via a text message to your mobile telephone.  If you wish to participate in this service please complete an application form available from reception.

The text reminder also gives you the option to cancel the appointment if you are no longer able to make it. This is by a text to the number in the reminder.  You do not need to contact the surgery as the system will automatically be updated and your appointment cancelled.  This will help reduce the number of calls to the surgery, and save you time.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
